Kids being disfellowshipped

so some ex-jws and i were at dinner last night talking about how some of the ones baptized this year were so young.

a few under the age of 10!!

can you imagine if a kid got dfd at that age.... would the congregation shun them?

I was bothered by a 9 year old girl in Florida, who wanted to get baptized, we approved her and she was DF'd by age 14.

James Jack, Mrs./Sister Rutherford did not live in "the Mansion" if you mean Beth Sarim. The Rutherfords had been separated for many years, and she lived separately.

This is the first time that I have read that the Rutherfords were officially "Separated". If this is true, that goes on to show the double standard of the Watchtower Org when it comes to the Society's Presidents(Russell & Rutherford), being separated/divorced, and yet continued serving in their positions, while any other person in an appointed position would be deleted!

many of you have asked about my story, so here it is.

it's a bit long lol.

however i still loved jeremy but because he wasn’t a witness i knew i could never be with him and have my family.

Thanks for posting! This is like therapy for some of us. Like others have posted, take things slowly and one step at a time. I wouldn't get into a relationship so soon. Have time to collect your thoughts and decide what kind of person you want in your life. Do they make you a better person? Are they mentally stable? Do they make good decisions? Are they heavily in debt? Do they have health problems that may be taxing on you? Ask his family and friends what are his strenghts and weaknesses.

Rome GA Kingdom Hall sold

i was driving through rome (coosa) ga and i noticed that the kingdom hall had been sold(it had been 4 months since my last trip).

i helped re-model the hall and they had a home next door that was donated to the hall and was being used to house co's and other visitors.

anyone have any further details about the sale?

So true. I gave many talks at this KH in Rome. There was an English and Spanish Cong at this Hall. All 4 Rome congregations must attend the same KH.

Just wondering. . .for those that are Ex-Elders . . .

did your conscience ever bother you when you were counseling/reproving/disfellowshipping ones in the congregation?

did it feel extreme or justified based on your biblical understanding at the time.

also are there any ex-elders here that dealt with child abuse accusations?

Never felt bad about any decision I made. After all, we had scriptures and or Watchtower publications to back up our decisions(some misapplied). However, once I was deleted(son fornicated), I did apologize to many that I DF'd (still out) and to a once Elder that I was instrumental in getting deleted.

On the 2 Child Abuse cases that I participated in, I broke ranks and told the parents that they had the right to go to the authorities and that there would be NO recourse from the Elders. My line was," We only handle the Spiritual side of the offense, the authorities handle the criminal side.
